Mindset Blocks and how to overcome them

Josephine Dumont, Mindset Coach, Leadership Coach

Have you ever felt like you are unable to progress further or make progress towards your goals, despite all the effort you put in?

If yes, then you may be experiencing mindset blocks.

Mindset blocks are the psychological invisible barriers that hold you back from achieving your desired outcomes and can have a significant impact on your life. They can be caused by a wide range of factors, including traumatic experiences, lack of self-confidence, and unsupportive social environments. These blocks can take the form of negative self-talk, limiting beliefs, self-doubt, making it hard to concentrate, or fear of failure. Which is one of the most common ones and can manifest itself in a variety of forms, such as an inability to take risks, a reluctance to pursue goals, or a feeling of worthlessness.

The good news is that mindset blocks can be overcome and it is possible to create a mindset that will allow you to take the necessary steps to break free from these blocks and their limitations and therefore unlock your full potential.

Here are some tips that can help you overcome mindset blocks and achieve greater success:

  1. Identify the root cause of your blocks: The first step in overcoming mindset blocks is to identify the root cause of your blocks. This can be done by asking yourself some questions such as “What am I afraid of?”, “What is stopping me from progressing?”, and “What can I do to make progress?”.

  2. Change your thoughts: Once the root cause of your blocks has been identified, the next step is to change your thoughts. This involves challenging the negative thoughts and beliefs that are stopping you from making progress. Replace these negative thoughts and beliefs with positive, empowering thoughts that will help you move forward.

  3. Take action: Once you have changed your thoughts, the next step is to take action. Taking action towards your goals will help create momentum and give you the confidence to move towards a successful outcome.

  4. Learn from mistakes: It is important to learn from your mistakes and not be disheartened by failures. Instead, focus on learning from them and use them as an opportunity to grow and become a better version of yourself.

  5. Self-care: Taking care of yourself is essential for overcoming mindset blocks. Make sure you get enough rest, eat healthy meals, and participate in activities that will help reduce stress and anxiety.

These tips are a great first way to overcome one block after the other that keeps you from growing, changing, or achieving what you set out to do. However, remember that it is up to you to take action and make progress. It may take some time and it may be challenging, but in the end, it will all be worth it.
