Activating your inner allies

During my training at the Co-Active Training Institute (CTI) we learned and experimented with the inner resource in form of “allies”. Basically, these allies are different support systems that can help you through different situations and challenges. You can have several ones, depending on your needs, as long as you can connect with them energy-wise, they can be incredibly helpful.

Also in my coaching, I like to explore different allies for exactly that reason. Many common allies seem to be the ones related to balance, well-being, and relaxation. Especially clients struggling with stress, burnout, and all-time-busyness can benefit from this inner superhero to tap into a more calm and well-balanced state of being.

These superheroes can be any shape or form, human or an object, or whatever resonates the most with you and represent the power that you need. Let’s look at an example from my own experience:

I wanted to connect more to my inner child and playfulness, because I was seeking some more fun and lightness in mundane or tough tasks or when life, in general, might be a little extra challenging. So, together with my coach we tapped into the energy of an ally that is represented by a tiny me, in a big hoodie and a Nintendo Switch in her hands, always smiling and laughing. I even drew a picture of this ally, to be more able to visualize her. She was a great help for example when it came to studying or working through the divorce paperwork. Not only did she provide me with a level of lightness but also a form of ease when it came to taking breaks or allowing myself to take breaks. Her motto was “take it easy, it will be more than fine”.

But I also have an ally for rest and recovery, or another one for getting the job done and bold productivity.

The key point that I want to also bring across here is, that these allies and their powers are already within us. They are ready to be activated and send to their mission: supporting you and improving your life and experience.

All we have to do is go inward and turn on the switch of the ally we need right now, connect with their energy and action from this point of power and perspective.

A great way to do so is via visualization, which you get to do with me during a coaching session when we together explore all your inner strengths and resources. Or if you want to do a small exercise yourself, think of a challenging situation in your life. Next, think about how you want to be, or what strength and superpower you would like to have to solve this challenge. Try to describe it with one word, and then create a metaphor that resonates with this new state of being. Whatever comes to your mind, is ok. There are no good or bad representations, all that matters is that it matters to you and speaks to you. What does this ally stand for and how would it approach your challenge? listen inwards for the answers, and act accordingly.

This may be another crucial side note: we can plan and create in our minds all those wonderful concepts and ideas and strategies, but what really makes the difference is us implementing these and putting them into action.

See it this way, you plan to grow a plant. That’s your plan. But just from this, nothing will grow or change. You got to go to the shop and buy the seeds, the soil, and a pot. Then you got to plant the seed, water it and take care of it. You may have to get some proper nourishment for the plant, a bug spray, and so on, you get the gist.

There will be no plant, without action. Likewise, there will be no new state of being or solving a challenge from a different angle, without action.

If you decide to start coaching with me, I will be there to support you with your accountability towards yourself and keep on working according to the personalized strategy we put together. But you got to be ready to experiment, try, fail, try again and not give up.

But the great news is: it will get easier and easier, even more so if you learn how to activate and use your inner allies or your very own team of superheroes that is always there for you, regardless!

If you are interested in unlocking your allies and potential, send me a message.
