10 Questions to Ask Yourself to Make This Your Best Month Yet

Before we dive in - don’t give me any of the “journaling is woo woo and doesn’t do sh!t” crap, ok? Ok! Don’t call it journaling if that doesn’t resonate with you then, call it reflection, self-awareness practice, thinking time, thought record, or even month end review or reporting.

Several studies have shown positive effects of regular journaling. It can help reduce anxiety, regulate emotions, break out of overthinking, and improve self-awareness (WebMD.com, 2021). In short, it helps you to understand yourself better, how you tick and what ticks you off or on. Ain’t nothing woo-woo or wrong with that my friend!

So if you want to make this next month or chapter in your life one of your best ones yet, grab a pen and paper, open a GDoc and let’s dive into some juicy juicy juicy questions that will leave no room for any BS you might be telling yourself to not do what you’re truly capable of.

Be aware these questions will require full transparency and honesty with yourself!

  1. What excuses did you make last month that held you back, and how can you kick them to the curb this time around?

  2. Who or what drained your energy the most last month, and how can you create boundaries to protect your vibe in the future?

  3. What are you avoiding dealing with because it's uncomfortable, and how can you face it head-on like the badass you are?

  4. How did you let fear or doubt call the shots last month, and how can you tell them to jog on this time?

  5. Who or what inspired you the most last month, and how can you harness that energy to fuel your own fire?

  6. What dreams or goals did you put on the backburner last month, and how can you bring them back into the spotlight where they belong?

  7. What opportunities are you overlooking because you're too focused on the obstacles, and how can you shift your perspective to see the silver linings instead?

  8. What self-care practices have you been neglecting, and how can you prioritise your well-being and happiness moving forward?

  9. How will you celebrate your achievements, big and small, throughout the upcoming month to acknowledge your progress and success? How do you want to feel at the end of next month?

  10. What steps will you take to ensure you're aligning your actions with your values and priorities in the next month, living authentically and intentionally?

Bonus: What resources or support do you need to reach your goals in the next month, and how can you access or acquire them?

Wasn’t that bad right?

Let this be your sign that sometimes it’s worthwhile to slow down, have a cuppa and reflect on how things have been and whether you’re truly on track towards your goals or not. Don't snooze on journaling just because it seems old-school. It's been around forever for a reason—it's awesome! Think of it as your own personal space to spill all your thoughts, feelings, and dreams without anyone giving you grief. It's your time to keep it real and get to know yourself better. The mental health benefits are just the cherry on top!

Want to work with me 1:1 so you can not only shed light on the BS you’ve been telling yourself but to also start breaking the pattern for not only a new month but a new YOU?
